A Mindful Photography UK meet up at Helmsley Walled Garden

I spent the afternoon at our second session with Carers Plus Yorkshire in Helmsley Walled Garden. We were delighted to see familiar faces and welcome newcomers to our group. The sun shone brightly on us — such a lovely treat for late autumn and we were even had time to introduce the lens balls.

The Therapeutic Photography workshop offers a space for individuals of all ages and skill levels to come together, using whatever equipment they prefer, to enjoy a relaxing afternoon filled with shared experiences and mindfulness.

These sessions are generously funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, managed by North Yorkshire, and we are deeply grateful for their support.

We currently have a few openings for telephone or online sessions with those who have caring responsibilities and are unable to attend group sessions at this time. This aspect of our work is crucial, as previous participants have expressed how much more connected they feel when they participate. A heartfelt thank you to Louise and to all the participants who provided such wonderful feedback on their forms.

Our final session is scheduled for March 3rd, and we are thrilled to have the talented Gayle Johnson, a creative writer, join us to help craft some accompanying text for our photography. Watch this space for our mini exhibition at Helmsley Art Centre in mid-March 2025!
