I truly enjoy collaborative work; I might even be a bit of a mother hen when it comes to connecting people.
Earlier this month, I worked with Working for Health CIC and Up for Yorkshire, who selected Selby participants they believed would appreciate Mindful Photography!

I welcomed them to our city from the bus stop, and we quickly jumped into our first task: searching for curvy and straight lines. Many years ago, I worked at York Castle Museum, a fascinating building, and I had the opportunity to share some of its stories while highlighting its unique features. We examined its architecture and pondered the lives of the individuals who have used or been connected to the building throughout its history.

Our main objective was to nurture curiosity.

We enjoyed some warm drinks while discussing the principles of mindful and therapeutic photography. Our second task focused on discovering colors, stories, and the various identities we could encounter within the displays.

In the afternoon, we ventured to the Yorkshire Museum, capturing images of the metal-sculpted ghosts, the light was just beautiful with a light mist and we were lucky enough to discover the church and yard of St Olave’s in all its glory.

A heartfelt thank you to Rise 2 Thrive for funding our programme, and a special thanks to the museum staff, especially Philip, for making our day possible! Experiences like these are vital for our local groups.
