I’m often asked if I work with children and young people – I certainly do!

Have you ever noticed how much children LOVE mindfulness? It’s like they have a superpower that makes them totally open to all the wonders around them—way more than us adults!

Why is that? Well, they haven’t built up the judgements and baggage we collect over the years….that fear of getting it wrong.
Recently, I had the most amazing time with my eight-year-old nephew, exploring the world of mindful photography. After our little adventure, he grinned from ear to ear and said he felt like he had just been on a holiday! 🌞 How sweet!

Mindfulness really does give you that magical feeling of slowing down time, allowing us to experience the smells, sounds, and sights around us.
I let him borrow my camera, which was such a fun way to share trust between us. It reminded me of when my dad gave me my very first camera at the same age. My nephew was so respectful, always putting the lens cap back on and listening to my instructions… well, most of the time! There were a few hilarious moments when I found myself running after him and shouting “Walk!” as he zoomed across stepping stones like a baby mountain goat!

If you think your community group of young adventurers could use some mindfulness magic, I’d love to come in and share some fun sessions. Thanks to the support from Forensic Response UK, a CIC based in Yorkshire, I can offer a few taster experiences for FREE!
Let’s get together and let our children explore the joys of mindfulness. Message me if you’re interested – I’m particularly keen to work with young people who are neurodivergent with or without diagnosis rebecca@mindfulphotography.org.uk
