Reflecting on our work in Eastfield, one thing is clear: the conversation around wellbeing is growing, and communities want accessible ways to engage with it.
Mindful photography – part of the wider field of therapeutic photography – has proven to be a powerful tool for personal reflection, creativity and community connection.
Through this project we saw participants build confidence, form new relationships and develop new ways of caring for their wellbeing.
One workshop in March brought together 19 adults and 20 children, helping parents learn how to photograph their babies – a joyful session that reminded us how creativity can empower families even during challenging financial times.
Our work in Eastfield has been supported by PACT Cash for Causes funding, which has allowed us to meaningfully engage with residents and promote mental wellbeing through creative practice.
But this is not the end.
Through future initiatives such as Rise to Thrive and Step Up, we hope to continue expanding mindful photography projects and supporting communities across the UK.
Because sometimes the smallest act – pausing to notice something beautiful through a lens – can be the start of a much bigger journey.
