Looking for photographic detail on the First World War gallery

This week, we experienced a truly magical morning at the York Castle Museum, where our bite-sized walking workshops brought together participants from across the region of North Yorkshire.

What started as three introductory walks quickly transformed into a close community, with requests for additional workshops.

A selection of brushes from Kirkgate the reconstructed street

Individuals travelled from as far as Malton, Scarborough, Knaresborough, Northallerton, and Selby to attend, showing a remarkable commitment to taking control of their own wellbeing, growth and community involvement.

Getting on public transport can be nerve racking for some of our participants- but they did it !

A retro throwback from the 1980s kitchen!

Our workshops focus not only on the process of mindful photography—encouraging participants to look closely and slow down—but also on creating an environment where people can connect, share, and inspire each other.

Looking for things we think others might not see

It’s beautiful to witness the smiles, laughter, and exchanges of ideas that emerge during these sessions. One man showed us how he’d downloaded the eventbrite app on his phone so that he can easily book on one of our sessions. Another person shared information on how to add filters to images.

Participants have the opportunity to swap well-being techniques and provide encouragement to one another. This collaborative spirit breeds a powerful sense of camaraderie, reminding us that we are all in this together; on our many journeys towards improved well-being.

As we continue these workshops, we look forward to creating even more spaces for connection.

Join us for a mindful experience that celebrates creativity, mindfulness, and community spirit. Let’s come together, share stories, and keep inspiring each other!
