
On 2 June 2026 we facilitated a woodland well-being day for adults at New Earswick Nature Reserve funded by York and North Yorkshire Council and Better Connect.

🌱 CONNECTION
Every participant who completed a feedback form reported feeling less isolated and more connected. They liked
“Connecting with other people.”
“Interacting with different people to help me feel more connected socially.”

Participants said
“I would have isolated myself and this would have likely spiralled.”

💪 CONFIDENCE
Participants reported increased confidence through learning new creative skills, developing photography knowledge, trying new activities and taking part in a welcoming environment.
🎨 LEARNING NEW SKILLS
Photography, watercolour techniques, Handpan music and rhythm, nature and wildlife awareness, and social confidence and communication skills.

❤️ A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT

Participants consistently described the experience as inclusive, friendly, supportive and relaxing.

CONTINUING IMPACT
Many participants intend to attend future sessions, continue mindful photography, use creative skills at home and stay connected with others.
“I had an operation yesterday and if it wasn’t that I know how much being at one of Rebecca’s outings would help, I would have isolated myself and this would have likely spiralled.”

We are enjoying another woodland well-being day in the 21 July 2026 and although this is adult based we welcome participants to bring their families.
